Saints U Radio
Questions & Answers
Why we built our own platform instead of living on someone else’s, what your membership funds, how the music is made, and what the whole thing is for.
Are these songs made with AI?
AI is one of the tools we use to create Saints U Music. But calling the songs simply “AI-generated” doesn’t really describe how they’re made.
The concepts, biblical themes, messages, lyrics, creative direction, corrections, selections and final decisions behind Saints U Music are human-led. We may use AI technology as part of the production process — much like creators use digital instruments, samples, synthesizers, editing software, Auto-Tune and other technologies to turn an idea into finished music.
AI can help us produce at a speed and scale that would have been impossible for a small independent organization only a few years ago. But the tool doesn’t determine what Saints U believes, what we say, what makes the final cut or why the song exists. We do.
We believe technology should be used in service of the mission — not the other way around. For Saints U, that means using the tools available to us to create more biblically grounded, edifying and genuinely entertaining Christian music for a generation that desperately needs better options.
The technology may be new. The mission isn’t.
Why not just put all the songs on YouTube?
We love YouTube, and you’ll absolutely find Saints U content there. But YouTube was never designed to be the permanent home of everything God has given us to create.
Some subjects need their own home
Saints U is Christian entertainment, but we are also willing to deal directly with biblical subjects, cultural issues, sin, repentance, spiritual warfare, relationships, identity and other topics that may not always fit comfortably within the policies of a major public platform. Content can be restricted, demonetized, age-limited or removed. Rather than letting another company decide which parts of our message reach you, we believe Saints U needs a home of its own.
We don’t want the mission to depend on someone else’s platform
Channels lose reach, algorithms change, policies change, accounts get suspended, and audiences can disappear overnight. The work we’re building is too important to place entirely in the hands of a platform we don’t control. YouTube can be one of our distribution channels. Saints U is the home base.
The mission needs to be funded
When our music generates views and engagement on another platform, that platform benefits from the value our content creates. There’s nothing wrong with that — but if Saints U is going to produce more music, films, series, magazines, comics, curriculum and creator content, some of that value needs to come back into the mission. Your membership helps us build what comes next.
We want a direct relationship with our audience
On social media, an algorithm decides how many of our followers actually see what we release. On Saints U, when we release something for our members, we can put it in front of our members — no fighting an algorithm to reach the people who already asked to hear from us.
Some things should be exclusive
If everything we create is immediately available everywhere for free, it becomes very hard to sustain high-quality Christian entertainment. Some songs will be public, some exclusive, some may come to Saints U first. That lets supporters receive something meaningful while helping finance the next project.
We want this library to still exist years from now
Social platforms come and go. We’re building Saints U so the work God gives us today can still be discovered years from now — organized, preserved and accessible in one place.
Who is Saints U for?
Saints U is built especially with the next generation in mind — teens, college-age listeners and young adults surrounded by entertainment every day. But it isn’t limited to one age group. Parents, families, churches, schools, ministries and anyone looking for compelling Christian entertainment can enjoy Saints U.
So are you leaving YouTube?
Not at all. YouTube, social media and streaming platforms help us reach people who may never have heard of Saints U. Think of those platforms as the roads. Saints U is the destination.
Our goal isn’t to disappear from the internet. Our goal is to build something worth coming home to.
Why should I pay for Christian content?
Because Christian creators still have real production costs. Music, films, writers, artists, designers, developers, servers, equipment, software, studios, printing, distribution and staff all require resources. The fact that the mission is Christian doesn’t make those costs disappear.
If we want Christian entertainment to compete creatively with everything else fighting for people’s attention, we have to be willing to invest in it. Your membership isn’t simply paying to hear a song — you’re helping build the infrastructure that lets thousands more songs, stories, films and resources exist.
Isn’t the Gospel supposed to be free?
Absolutely. The Gospel is free. Salvation cannot be purchased, and Saints U will never charge anyone for access to Jesus Christ.
But there is a difference between charging for the Gospel and charging for products, services and entertainment created by people doing real work. A Bible can be purchased. A Christian book can be purchased. A concert can have tickets. A film can have a subscription. An artist can sell an album. Saints U follows the same principle — plenty of free content to reach people, while members who believe in the vision help sustain what we’re building.
Is everything on Saints U behind a paywall?
No. We want a healthy combination of free content, public releases and member-exclusive content. Some music and media will be public so people can discover the platform and encounter the message. Members receive deeper access to the library, exclusive releases, early content and additional experiences depending on their membership level.
Why build another streaming platform?
Because Saints U isn’t trying to become another Spotify or YouTube. We’re building something more focused: a home for Christian entertainment.
Music is only the beginning. Saints U is designed around music, radio, magazines, audio magazines, video, films, comics, curriculum, creators and other forms of entertainment — all centered on one mission: Jesus. Rather than asking secular platforms to make room for Christian culture, we’re building our own room.
Where does my membership money go?
Membership revenue helps Saints U keep producing and expanding. That includes:
- New music
- Original films and video
- Curriculum Magazine
- Audio content, comics and graphic novels
- Creator partnerships
- Website, app and streaming infrastructure
- Servers, bandwidth and production equipment
- Design, animation, marketing and outreach
- Future Saints U experiences
You’re not just subscribing to what Saints U is today. You’re helping fund what Saints U can become tomorrow.
Why aren’t you supported completely by advertising?
Advertising can help, but we don’t want it to dictate the mission. A platform funded entirely by advertisers can become dependent on keeping advertisers comfortable. Saints U needs the freedom to address biblical subjects clearly and create the work we believe God has called us to create. Membership gives the community a direct way to support that independence.
Are you trying to replace Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube?
No. Those platforms can still help people discover Christian music and content in general — but Saints U Music is not built around them, and in many cases our releases may never be on those platforms at all.
We simply don’t believe streaming-only platforms that pay fractions of a cent per stream can properly value or sustain the work we create, or serve as the only place our music lives. Saints U Music is being built as its own home from the start, where the music, message and mission can exist without limitation, delay or dependency on outside platforms.
Will Saints U music still be released on other platforms?
Yes, selected music can still appear on YouTube, social media, streaming services and other platforms — but not necessarily everything. Some projects may be public releases, Saints U exclusives, early-access releases, or member-only releases. That lets us reach new people while giving members something special.
Why CDs, vinyl and downloads in a streaming world?
We love streaming, and Saints U is built around a subscription. But we also believe there is something valuable about being able to say “I own this project.”
Owning is a different experience from subscribing
A subscription gives you access to the Saints U world. Ownership gives you a piece of it. Some of us remember buying a CD or a record, opening the package, reading the credits, studying the artwork and putting it on a shelf with everything else we loved. You didn’t just listen to the album — you had the album.
That is why we want selected Saints U releases to exist as CDs, vinyl, digital downloads and other collectible editions. Streaming is convenient. Ownership is personal. There is room for both.
Access and ownership are not the same thing
With a subscription you may have access to millions of songs, but that access depends on the service continuing to carry them and your subscription staying active. Songs get removed. Libraries change. Services shut down. Licensing agreements change. Even things people believed they had purchased digitally can remain tied to an account or a platform.
A CD on your shelf needs no internet connection. A vinyl record needs no subscription. A stored download does not need Saints U to still be online. You have your copy, and that distinction matters to us.
Physical media preserves culture
Some of us still have records that are forty or fifty years old. CDs from two decades ago still play. Books printed generations ago still open and read without software, passwords or subscriptions.
Technology moves fast. File formats disappear, drives fail, websites close, accounts are deleted, companies merge, servers go offline. We don’t believe every important piece of Christian creative work should exist only on somebody’s server. Some of it should sit in homes, on shelves, in churches and in collections — and one day be passed from one generation to another.
We want projects to become artifacts, not just files
There is something in holding a record: large-format artwork, lyrics, photography, credits, Scripture, production notes, the story behind the project. Perhaps limited editions, numbered pressings, special packaging.
Imagine someone twenty-five years from now finding an original Saints U vinyl pressing from the beginning of the platform. That means something different from finding the song in an endless playlist.
Downloads, and what membership already gives you
To be clear about something, because it matters: downloading is already part of membership. Members can download the music, and those files stay yours permanently — if you cancel later, what you already downloaded is still on your device and still plays. We will not switch it off. That is written into our Terms of Use, not just promised here.
So buying a project is not how you get to keep the music. It is for the person who doesn’t want a subscription in the first place — someone who wants one album rather than the whole library, or a church that would rather make a single purchase than put a recurring charge through their finance committee. Both are completely reasonable, and neither should be shut out.
Membership is the whole ecosystem, and what you download along the way is yours to keep. Buying a release is the way in for people who don’t want a subscription. CDs and vinyl are a different thing again — an object that needs no account, no app and no connection at all.
Buying directly supports the mission
A purchase helps finance what comes next: another record, another artist, another comic, another magazine, another film. Unlike advertising revenue or fractions of a streaming royalty, a direct purchase creates a far stronger relationship between the people who believe in the work and the people making it. We want to build an economy where Christian creativity can sustain more Christian creativity.
Your music shouldn’t disappear when your internet does
Saints U is being built for people around the world, and reliable high-speed internet is not something everyone can take for granted. Some listeners are in rural communities with inconsistent service. Some are in countries where mobile data is expensive against local income. Some have limited data plans, frequent power cuts, or travel and work in remote places. And even excellent connections go down in a storm.
We would rather build the solution before there is a problem. It is easy to assume that because something is online today it will be online tomorrow. A serious media platform should think past today’s ideal conditions — what happens when the connection is slow, when data is too expensive, when you’re travelling, during an outage, or when a platform changes its technology ten years from now?
Our answer should not be “sorry, you can’t listen anymore.” Streaming when connectivity is there. Downloaded copies when it isn’t. Physical media that can stay in a home, church or school for years. Good technology should increase access, not make people completely dependent on it.
Streaming gives you access.
Downloads give you independence.
Physical media gives you permanence.
Saints U believes you should have the choice.
How often will new content be added?
We’re building Saints U as a living platform, not a static library. Expect the catalog to keep growing with new music, new projects and new content regularly. Our goal is for members to keep coming back and finding something they haven’t heard, watched or read before.
What makes Saints U different from other Christian media?
Saints U is built around the idea that Christian media doesn’t have to feel like an afterthought. It can be edifying, entertaining, creative, excellent, culturally relevant and completely unashamed of Jesus.
We call that EDUTAINMENT — content that can entertain you while still feeding something better into your spirit.
Is Saints U only gospel music?
No. Christian music doesn’t have to be limited to one sound. Saints U can include rap, hip-hop, R&B, pop, rock, folk, amapiano, alternative, worship, experimental sounds and more. The genre can change. The foundation doesn’t.
Is Saints U a church?
No. Saints U is a Christian entertainment and media platform. We strongly believe in the local church and don’t exist to replace pastors, churches or biblical fellowship. Our role is different — we’re building media that can travel with you throughout the week, in your headphones, your phone, your home, your car and your everyday life.
Are you trying to preach in every song?
Not every song needs to sound like a sermon. Some teach, some tell stories, some encourage, some make you laugh, some confront serious issues, and some simply create clean, uplifting entertainment. But everything exists within the larger Saints U mission. Christian entertainment shouldn’t have to choose between having a message and being genuinely entertaining.
Why does Christian entertainment matter so much?
Because entertainment teaches whether we realize it or not. Songs repeat ideas. Movies normalize ideas. Stories shape imagination. Culture influences what people desire, admire and eventually accept. If people spend hours every day consuming entertainment, then building excellent Christian alternatives isn’t a side project. It’s mission territory.
What does my subscription actually accomplish?
Every member makes Saints U more sustainable. One membership may seem small by itself, but thousands together can fund another album, another artist, another magazine, another comic, another film, another developer, another production — another opportunity to reach someone. The community becomes the engine behind the mission.
Can churches, ministries or schools participate?
Yes. Saints U serves individuals as well as churches, youth groups, ministries, Christian schools and other organizations that want access for larger groups. Group passes make Saints U available to entire communities at once — see the plans on the enrollment page.
Can I support Saints U beyond subscribing?
Absolutely. You can:
- Subscribe, or give through our support page
- Share Saints U with someone
- Introduce us to your church or ministry
- Support releases and purchase Saints U products
- Participate in future events
- Pray for the mission
And one of the most powerful things you can do is simply tell someone that Saints U exists.
What is the ultimate vision for Saints U?
To build a world-class Christian entertainment ecosystem capable of reaching this generation through the media they already consume — music, film, video, radio, print, comics, streaming, creators and technology. One platform. One growing community. One mission: Jesus.
